The missionary church

Jesus said “Go into all the world and proclaim the good news to the whole creation.” (Mark 16:15) Basically, our Church is missionary in nature.

The official and chief missionary arm of the Catholic Church of the Philippines is the Mission Society of the Philippines (MSP), spread in five continents and in fourteen countries (and counting!), in the world. Giving back for GOD’s glory, MSP priests share with others the faith bountifully received from the early foreign missionaries.

Here in Davao, Fr. Isidro “Cedric” C. Alimbuyong presently heads the MSP House in Catalunan Grande, Skyline Subdivision. He coordinates with lay MSP members from different parishes, regular masses, holy hours, recollections, Fil-Mission Sunday events, overnight camp trainings, and other Church Feasts and celebrations.

For every MSP priest sent forth, we share this “joyful missionary spirit flowing from deep union with CHRIST through Mary, and in the power of the HOLY SPRIT, willing to spend and be spent in sharing HIS Gospel to all (MSP charism).” As members, we too travel the ends of the earth proclaiming the goodness of GOD by our prayers, participation and monetary contributions.

We invite you to join us, and proclaim with the MSP priests, the glory of GOD’s kingdom. (Bella A. Sarenas | MSP member)
