SDB of Mati diocese marks 25th year

The Salesians of Don Bosco (SDB) celebrated the 25th year of their foundation in Mati, as well as of their first school in Mindanao, the Don Bosco Training Center (DBTC) on August 13, 2017, at the Don Bosco grounds, Sacred Heart Parish, Dahican, Mati City. Bishop Emeritus of Mati, Most Rev. Patricio H. Alo, D.D., presided over the 9:00 AM Mass at the Church, with Mati SDB founder Fr. Franco Uras, SDB as homilist. Many religious, friends, guests, industry partners and the DBTC academe with 366 students were present. The priests and religious had their special day/dinner on August 15, the actual foundation day. Special feature was the unveiling of the life-sized Don Bosco statue at the DBTC grounds. The statue was sculptured by SDB in Dumaguete City and brought all the way by land to Mati by the local superior Fr. Rey Jude Albarando, SDB. More details in succeeding issues.
