FLA gathers members and GKK PSKB
Last July 29, 2017, more than 500 Family and Life Apostolate members and Pangulo sa Kristohanong Banay gathered at St. Francis Xavier, Regional Major Seminary as a celebration of Family and Life Apostolate’s (FLA) 7th Archdiocesan General Assembly. Themed “Parish: Communion of Families” the FLA members are great signs of hope in a world where families are torn apart and challenged by the signs of times. The director of FLA Fr. Orlando A. Angelia warmly welcomed everyone reminding them that it was a gathering of a community of the very vital part in church building—the family.
Abortion, contraceptives, premarital sex, same-sex union, divorce, extra-marital sex, pornography, social media upheaval, technology savvy kids, materialism, individualism, drug addiction, and many more issues that challenge each family were just a few things discussed during the talk of the Director of Archdiocesan Commission on Social Communications. Fr. Ritsche J. Gamaya shared how to take care of one’s family members in a community or in their own home by not alienating others but making them feel welcomed and loved whoever they are and wherever they are. The Justiniani family from Ascension of the Lord Parish attested that, “Nadungagan ang among natun-an aside sa formation sa simbahan sama sa sakto nga pamaagi sa pag-atiman sa pamilya ug pag involve sa community.” In the afternoon, the event was entertained with presentations per vicariate, raffle of prizes and ended with a community song. The FLA is one among the pastoral agencies of the Church of Davao. It is responsible in holding marriage enrichment seminars, life coaching and pro-life advocacy.
