Decline in tourist arrival not a problem
DAVAO CITY — The support from people around Mindanao is heartily felt by Davaoeños for its upcoming Kadayawan Festival on August 14, 2017.
Generose Tecson, Davao City Tourism officer said that the anticipated decline of the arrival of tourists for the Festival is not anymore a problem, for as they can see now, people are starting to realize that Martial law did not really affect the situation of the City.
“The Mindanao area is our realistic target and we are happy to say that people around the region are actually excited to join this 2017’s Kadayawan,” said Tecson.
She added that the social media plays a big role in encouraging visitors not only in Mindanao, but also from Visayas and Luzon.
The posts of visitors of Davao from Twitter and Facebook saying or asking “Where is the Martial Law here in Mindanao?” gives a positive impact to the tourism of the City.
“There’s a lot of people outside Mindanao who visited just to see what we have here. We are very thankful for the support and for that, we will make the upcoming Kadayawan Festival an unforgettable experience of theirs,” ended Tecson.
The Kadayawan Festival is an annual festival in the city of Davao in the Philippines. The festival is a celebration of life, a thanksgiving for the gifts of nature, the wealth of culture, the bounties of harvest and serenity of living. It is held every third week of August.
