Davao charismatics holds Catchfire rally
In 2014, Pope Francis issued this invitation to Catholic Charismatics, “I expect all of you, Charismatics from around the world, to celebrate your Great Jubilee with the Pope at Pentecost 2017 in St. Peter’s Square”. This event would occur in June 4, 2017, Pentecost Sunday. The Catholic Charismatic Renewal Movement traces its beginnings in 1967 at the Duquesne University of the Holy Spirit.
In solidarity with the Pope and Catholic Charismatic members of the world, the Davao-based charismatic groups composed of the Brotherhood of Christian Businessmen and Professionals (BCBP), Couples for Christ (CFC), Familia Community, Bukas Loob sa Diyos (BLD) Covenant Community and Holy Trinity Community (HTC) together with their outreaches and partners from nearby regions celebrates today an inspirational rally entitled “Catchfire 2017.”
The theme for this year is “Set the World Ablaze!” to be held at the RSM Events Center of the Philippine Women’s College of Davao.
The event has three-fold aims, to promote unity among Catholic charismatics by providing a common time to worship, to be formed, and an opportunity to evangelize for the Lord, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal Movement, and, to serve the church by raising funds for its projects specifically the Archdiocesan Nourishment Center (ANC).
Already on its third year, Catchfire-Davao is open to all. It will start with healing sessions at 12:00nn followed by the celebration of the Holy Mass at 1:30pm, then the inspirational prayer rally at 3pm until 5pm. Tickets are available at 200 pesos. (Manilee Araune | HTC SoCCom)
