Mary Mediatrix lectors undergo recollection
An anonymous writer said, “Calm the tormenting anxieties of your heart and banish from your imagination those distressing thoughts and sentiments which are all suggested by satan in order you to act badly”.
The forty three lectors of Mary Mediatrix of Digos Parish attended the recollection presided by Fr. Eric Parantar PDCV, on March 27. Only three were absent, one on leave and two got sick, an indicator of the lectors’ thirst for spiritual nourishment in order to properly serve the Holy Eucharist. The half day recollection was held in Davao Del Sur Electric Company Chapel, Cogon Digos. Regular monthly meeting took place on the first half day then schedules for the holy week was finalized. At 2pm, recollection started and ended with a rite for general absolution.
This is to attune their hearts and minds to the Lenten Season and be effective disciples of Christ in the sacrament of the Holy Eucharist.
The day’s insight focused on the healing of the blind man in the gospel, John 9:1-41 and from this, a question was asked if the lectors continue to “emit the light of Christ.”
As part of the lector’s team, this writer has this to share,
“Even if our eyes are wide open, our hearts can still be blind. We cannot see the beauty that surround us, particularly the beauty of GOD at work on his people.”
All the experiences, past, present and future has a reason meaning and destination. (Destined to Happen) in order to glorify God. There is a contrast between light from the cured man and darkness on the part of the Pharisees. It stands for misery, agony, pride, hatred, fear and envy. (Rhoda Allado)
