Frustrated youth remembered in recollection
“But even now,” says the Lord, “repent sincerely and return to me with fasting and weeping and mourning. Let your broken heart show your sorrow: tearing your clothes is not enough.” Come back to the Lord your God. He is kind and full of mercy; he is patient and keeps his promise; he is ready to forgive and not punish” Joel 2:11-13.
Productive, proactive and spirited.
These words best describe the Diocesan Lenten Youth Recollection as youth leaders from different parishes of the Diocese of Digos gathered for a renewal and commitment of their roles as leaders of their respective parishes at Saint John Paul II Seminary, Digos City, Davao Del Sur on March 18-19, 2017.
The reflections commenced with an opening prayer and the reading of the Gospel. The Gospel spoke about the parable of the prodigal son which was the most remarkable spiritual story written in the Bible that reminded them to reach out to those who had been part of the ministry but seemed to be left out due to probable reason such as frustration.
“What God wants us to give? This should be the legal basis or point of reference for the youth leaders in the planning and implementation of different activities in their respective parishes. God’s Love as the center of faith needs to be the focus of evangelization,” Fr. Marvin Zamora emphasized at some part of his striking input and at the middle of his homily.
The memorable event of the youth leaders culminated at Fr. Perseus’ wake at San Isidro Labrador Chapel where they completed their meditation for this Season. (Rhizter Cedeno | Diocesan Youth SoCCom)
