Chinese ambassador visit Davao
Tibungco community is a recipient to China’s aid
“We really are very thankful especially to the community who is in need. We are privileged na mabisitahan ng Chinese ambassador,” says Brgy. Captain Merjade Deles Calvo as one of the communities in Tibungco was granted a foreign aid by the government of China.
To personally visit the two sites of the grants, his Excellency Zhao Jianhua, Ambassador of China together with His Excellency Song Tao, Minister of International Department as well as the rest of the delegates from the People’s Republic of China visited Bolton Elementary School and Panungtungan, Tibungco on February 21.
Ambassador Zhao Jianhua said, “our visit is a way to contribute to the friendship of the two countries and the drinking water pumping station is a modest way of contributing to the economic growth of the Philippines and the well-being of the people.” Panungtungan will be aided with a water pumping system, while Bolton Elementary School is granted with new classrooms.
For the residents of Panungtungan in Tibungco, it was a dream come true. Erlinda Ocba the President of the Homeowners Association said that “it is a blessing as the proposal for water system was chosen by China.”
Another resident Florencia Almero, 81 years old, is very happy and thankful to the Chinese visitors for the easy access to drinking water, since she suffers from different illness due to old age. Filomena Toyaks thinks that they hit the “jackpot” because they were saved from the burden of finding a large sum of money if they will finance the project on their own.
Part of the welcome was an Indak-indak presentation from the Francisco Bustamante Elementary School. Residents of Panungtungan also received 300 grocery packs.
