Lingkod-Digos organizes Mercy Work

“We are blest the moment we become a blessing to others.”

This was the reflection by the Ang Lingkod ng Panginoon (ALNP)-Digos members as they extended help to the residents of Barangay Molopolo, Municipality of Kiblawan, Province of Davao del Sur, last December 18, 2016.

Among those who joined were members of the Rotary Club of South Digos, and eight brothers and sisters from ANLP-Davao. After the program led by Sis. Cindy Malague and Brod. Anthony Bulangkit of ANLP-Davao, slippers, dental kits (toothbrush and toothpaste), and rosaries were distributed to 150 children.

Brod. Philip Oscar Galaraga, the Branch Leader of ALNP-Digos gave the rationale of the activity. It was then followed by the message of Dr. Amelia Alquiza, President of the Rotary Club of South Digos. Also, Hon. Lita Don, Punong Barangay of Molopolo, gave her words of welcome and gratitude for having chosen her barangay to be the recipient of the Works of Mercy of the group.

After the giving of messages different parlor games were enjoyed by the kids. Prizes were given to the winners. All kids went home with new pairs of slippers on their feet, dental kits on their pockets, and smiles on their faces.

ALNP also extended the same mission to Malita last October, and Kitorok, San Pedro last November.

Ang Lingkod ng Panginoon (ALNP) or simply Lingkod is a movement of Catholic professionals and working people. It is essentially composed of single men and women who, as aptly stated in its Vision, “seek fullness of life in Jesus Christ, and in living this, life, work to bring many others to Himself.”

This Mercy Work is one among ALNP’s activities apart from Prayer Meetings, Action Group Meetings, Teaching and Formation Leadership Training, Social Action involvement, and Fellowship. (Bro. Roy Molina)
