Fatima-Morales GKK dominates DXGN’s Belen-making contest
Through standing out with simplicity, the belen of the Our Lady of Fatima-Morales GKK bagged the 1st place in the Ascension of the Lord Parish’s (ALP) Belen-making contest and in the entire Archdiocese of Davao, as well. DXGN Davao, represented by Rev. Fr. Ritsche Gamaya and Mrs. Annie Libres, also recognized this achievement and awarded gifts and a cash prize last January 7, 2017 to the GKK.
Bing Peromingan, one of the people behind the design, said that “’Yung simplicity and iyong humility ni Jesus Christ nung ipinanganak siya sa manger” was the message of their creation.
The GKK members used various recyclable materials to comply with the criteria, namely Durability and Stability, Creativity, and Overall Impact.
“Recycled ang dapat gawin. So, sila, nag-contribute lahat ng mga ideas. Creativity nila, lumabas,” Joy Ortega, another person behind the design, emphasized.
Ninfa Castillo, Pangulo sa Katilingban (PSK) also expressed the fulfillment that they felt by participating in the event. “You know what, ‘yung kasiyahan namin at sa aming mga GKK members, we’re so happy na kahit I’m not always around, they’re doing their best. I, we are so satisfied,” she said.
Spearheaded by the SocCom of ALP, the contest served as an answer to the Archdiocese of Davao’s thrust to have a belen in every GKK during the Christmas season. (Virgilio Roi C. Adaptar)
