World Youth Day delegates to share stories in NYD
The Philippine church celebrates National Youth Day for her “hopes, future heroes and immense treasures”— the youth. The church expresses her preferential love for them every December 16 through activities and events to inculcate inputs, faith-filled topics, and real life lessons.
This year, the Davao Archdiocesan Youth Coordinating Apostolate (DAYCA) is organizing a local celebration of the National Youth Day to be held at the Regional Major Seminary, Catalunan Grande, Davao City, on December 17, 2016.
The whole day event shall highlight this year’s World Youth Day theme, “Blessed are the merciful, for they shall find mercy”. The event shall be graced by the young people who went to WYD Krakow, Poland last July 2016.
Delegates will be giving their testimonies about this experience such as their meeting with the other young people from other countries, with the Pope, and his message, the place, its culture and more.
Veneration of the cross, celebration of the Holy Mass, theatrical performance, and an encounter with Abp. Romulo G. Valles, D.D. will take place.
DAYCA hopes that the youth will realize that they could personify mercy. From their simple acts of smile, kindness, humility, charity, obedience, this event hopes that they put into heart the Pope’s message, as they continue to lead others towards God’s kingdom.
DAYCA is the coordinating apostolate of the youth ministries from the parishes, transparochial communities and schools. (Jay Ann Peteros | Kalakbay)
