The Liturgical Year
Since a new liturgical season is to begin with the coming of Advent, Fr. Ritsche Gamaya, the managing director of the Davao Verbum Dei Media Foundation, Inc. focused his talk about the different liturgical seasons of the year during his monthly formation of the staff and volunteers, recently.
He said that it is important that we review what these seasons are and what they mean especially since we are in the social communications apostolate. Thus, he explains that there are 6 liturgical seasons and its proper colors, namely: (1) Advent (Violet), time of preparation and expectation, (2) Christmas (White), Incarnation of Jesus until the baptism of the Lord, (3) Lent (Violet), the time of Penance, (4) Paschal Triduum (Red/Violet/White), Easter Season (White/Gold) and Ordinary Time (Green).
