New York OFWs Enter the Holy Door
Around 50 catholic OFWs based in the five boroughs of New York City organized among themselves and decided to have one last trip to the Holy Doors around the New York area and into the Connecticut area on Saturday November 12, 2016. They hired a tourist bus to take them from their first stop: The St. Patrick Cathedral in Manhattan, then off to the state of Connecticut to visit at least three neighboring churches: St. Augustine Cathedral in Birdgeport, Connecticut, Cathedral of St. Joseph in Hartford, Connecticut and the Cathedral of St. Patrick in Norwich, Connecticut. Their activities include hearing a mass at the St. Patrick Cathedral in New York City, pray in group and in solitude, go to confession, listen to some insights from some priests who happened to be around at the time of the visit and a silent meditation. “This pilgrimage is an awesome experience, I feel closer to God more than ever”, according to Ms. Drew Razel Paz, a native of Sta. Cruz who has worked and lived in New York for a decade. (Blaze Q. Cantaros | Sugid,Sta. Cruz)
