Cor Jesu College sends off candidates to 2016 Bar Exam
The most difficult and prestigious licensure exam in the country kicks off and colleges and universities throughout the country send their own law graduates to hurdle said exam. The bar exam is to be done in the course of one month spread over four Sundays of November. The first leg was held on Nov 6, 2016 followed by Nov 13, 20 and 27, respectively.
Cor Jesu College, located in Digos City holds a decent record in sending successful test takers in many years.
Atty. Genevieve Marie Dolores Brandares Paulino who is the dean of the CJC College of Law joined the bar candidates in their journey to “NovemBar” as they call it. She travels with them to Manila, making sure the students are comfortable in their rented condo units and hotel rooms. She takes the early morning flights to Manila on the weekends to be with them. She goes out with them for special dinner on some evenings and in most occasions, they are joined in by some alumni and friends who are either based in Manila or have traveled to Manila themselves to show their support.
At the end of the day, when the test takers come out from the gates of the University of Sto. Tomas which is the venue of the said exam, they are greeted by their friends, CJC College of Law alumni, some of their professors and their dean giving each of them fresh roses, tight hugs and a pat on their shoulders. Most well wishers took on Twitter, prayers, banters and to social media to express their support.
According to Dean Paulino, she is overwhelmed and close to tears every time she asked them about how the test was at the end of the exams and the barristers recollect memories of their years in law school and repeatedly thanking her. She said this has always made her proud of her profession as a teacher and a law practitioner. (Blaze Q. Cantaros | Sugid, Sta. Cruz)
