A word of gratitude from Sisters of Missionaries of Charity
The Sisters of the Missionaries of Charity held a Thanksgiving Mass at the San Pedro Cathedral in honor of the Canonization of Mother St. Teresa of Calcutta. The Sisters are grateful to the following: First to God for the gift of life which has truly been “something beautiful”. Second, to Mother Mary for continuously inspiring St. Teresa of Calcutta to become the channel of God’s tender love and mercy to the poorest of the poor. Third, to the late Archbishop Antonio Mabutas who invited the Sisters to work in Davao for the poorest of the poor; Archbishop Emeritus Fernando Capalla for the help, guidance, and inspiration; and Archbishop Romulo Valles for presiding the Thanksgiving Mass and most especially for helping the Missionaries of Charity in their material and spiritual needs; Msgr. Paul Cuison, Rev Fr. Leonie España, Most. Rev. George Rimando their parish priest; Msgr Leonardo Vicente for allowing the Sisters to hold the Thanksgiving Mass in the Cathedral; to the clergies who concelebrated the Thanksgiving Mass; parish staff, choir, lay ministers, commentator, lectors and to the visitors who came to share in their joy; co-workers, benefactors, catechists, volunteers, families and friends.

The Sisters of the Missionaries of Charity are thankful most especially to the poor for accepting their mission and they ask for special prayer that they may continue to live the life of true missionaries of charity as carriers of God’s tender and merciful love, willing to pay the price for souls.
