1st Young CFC Assembly held
Cognizant of the need to rally as many couples to a cause on preserving Christian family culture, a group of Young CFC (Couples for Christ) – Davao Core group under Erwin and Deng Anonuevo, assembled 102 couples at the San Pedro College, Speakers were Mr. and Mrs. Rommel and Lyle Ancheta.
Participants were members and non-members of CFC community. They were serenaded by the Young CFC band headed by Paul Laburada. Couples were welcomed as eagerness to learn and to be nourished were manifested. Worship session was led by Mr. RP Tesoro who exhorted everyone to appreciate the value of couples praying together.
The 10 tips or to-do list after saying I do was a simple-easy to recall list of what couples should do after exchanging vows. It was made special when speakers infused their personal experiences and Christian perspectives on living and loving their life more after marriage. They expressed that while it is not new to everyone that the key to every relationship is communication, but the emphasis is to communicate effectively. And that this can only done by collective efforts of each one.
Couples Bro. Nady and Sis. Stella Golosino, Bro. Nonoy and Sis. Chit Danucop shared their experiences as married couples for more than two decades, too. The “couple time” enlivened the talk as couples answered on what culture and value identifies their families. The launching of the “Young Couples Quarterly Assembly,” a teaser of the next assembly, and a prayer by Bro. Ralph Madrio capped the gathering. The event was an affirmation that young couples heeded God’s call to build a family, dynamic in faith and resilient against the challenges of the times especially this Year of the Family celebration.
