SFDA Parish Tagakpan conducts LCCP enhancement seminar-workshop
The Lectors, commentators, cantors, and psalmists play a very significant role in the church because they serve as the mouthpiece of the Word of God. The Lectors, Commentators, Cantors, & Psalmists (LCCP) should keep in mind that they need to reflect and imbibe the words of Jesus, because it is them who proclaims these words to the whole Catholic community.
Hence, to make the lectors and commentators be reminded of the virtues and qualities that they must possess in order to religiously profess the word of God, the San Fransisco de Asis Parish of Tagakpan conducted the LCCP Enhancement Seminar last May 8 and 15, 2016.
The two-day seminar workshop aims to impart additional knowledge, skills, and learning experiences that are necessary for worshipping God. Also, the seminar-workshop hopes to bring and share the goodness of the Lord to the 28 GKKs of the parish.
The parish invited four guest speakers who gave keynote speeches and testimonies regarding their fulfilling experiences as servants of Christ.
In the morning of the first day, Sr. Evelyn Bacsan, MPS, gave a talk focused on “Pagpangalagad ug Pagtahan.” She stressed in her keynote speech that it is important to have a yearly formation so that those who follow the footsteps of Christ will learn and improve their vocation to serve God. She also added that there is no mastery without preparation and practice. Thus, lectors and commentators must be committed and dedicated. She concluded her sharing with an inspirational statement: “Ang pagserbisyo [sa Ginoo] is not a bed of roses. Naay kalisud, ug problema. Pero ang challenge is ang pagpadayon sa pagserbisyo ug pagsangyaw sa maayong balita.”
In the afternoon session, Sr. Rosalie Factolerin gave a talk with the theme: “Savoring God’s Words: Cultivating the Soul.” She introduced different kinds of prayers and the stages by which total meditation can be achieved. She also added that “prayer and silence are the languages of the Lord.” Hence, an LCCP member must a have a strong connection and bond with God through and by means of living a prayerful life.
On the second day of the seminar, Ms. Lucille Omambac and Mr. Art Brian Nano inspired the members of LCCP with their topic that focused on commitment and dedication to the ministry. Ms. Omambac told the LCCP members that they must be a role model to their fellow Catholics, since they are considered to be the humble instruments of proclaiming the good news of God. On the other hand, Mr. Brian Nano focused on the fundamentality of music and how psalmists should artistically use their singing talents in worshipping God.
After the seminar, it was evident in the eyes of the LCCP members that they felt the presence of God inside them, and they’re ready to overcome the challenges that an LCCP member would face. The LCCP members were thankful to the organizers of the said workshop because they have learned a lot from the resource speakers.
According to Ms.Rizzel Mae Daya, a Zone 1 LCCP member, she really felt happy and fulfilled because of the words of wisdom and inspirations shared by the resource speakers. She added that the seminar made her faith to God stronger and rekindled the fire of her dedication and service to God as a lector. (Jeffren P. Miguel)
