Catholic Media Network’s CEO and President trains DXGN Staff
Fr. Francis Lucas, the Chief Executive Officer and President of the Catholic Media Network (CMN) and former secretary of the Episcopal Commission on Social Communications (ECSC) of the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP), conducted an updating workshop on General Broadcast Management Principles for Catholic Media Concerns and Controls to the staff of the DXGN 89.9 Spirit FM, the official radio station of the Archdiocese of Davao last April 25-26, 2016 at the DXGN’s training room.
Aside from the technical aspects of the broadcast media, Fr. Francis emphasized in the workshop that in this era of convergent media, Catholic media platforms must also be updated with the trend in the fast-paced delivery of news and events happening in the society, most especially in the Church. The DJs, anchors, reporters, production head, and technical staff attended the said workshop.Fr. Lucas gave plenty of essential tips on how to captivate the listeners who are into the mainstream radio stations and draw them to listen to DXGN. He also added that CMN and DXGN are community-based development radio broadcast network and therefore reaches the grassroots and will be identified with the society through its programs. The two-day workshop concluded with a recollection on the year of mercy together with other media practitioners in Davao City last April 28, 2016 at the TDM retreat house. (Jecy Opada)
