Religious Leaders from Different Sects Gather for Prayer Service

Religious leaders from different sects joined together for the first Ecumenical Prayer Service and official E-CHAMP launching and prayer service on March 08, 2016 Tuesday at St. Mary’s College of Bansalan, Inc.

“We all aimed for an honest and peaceful 2016 elections. That is why we launched the E-CHAMP through this short prayer service”, said James Linao, Election which is Clean, Honest, Accurate, Meaningful and Peaceful (E-CHAMP) coordinator. Al E. Divinagracia, Mother Ignacia Club (MIC) moderator and Campus Minister, was the proponent of the said event, with his officers and members spearheading the 1-hour activity.

A prayer for blessing led by Xyra Kate Fernandez, Education student, commenced the program. S. Ma. Magdalena M. Monteza, RVM, School President, with the college students of SMCBI participated in the singing of the prayer of St. Francis of Assisi for peace.

Ptr. Patrocinio P. Galagate Jr. (VCCC Born Again), Ptr. Emerson Mañacap (Seventh-Day Adventist), Ptr. Martino Onie (CAMACOP), Ptr. Nienna D. Tanan (Bible Baptist), Ptr. Carlito P. Catajusan Jr. (Soul Winner Baptist Church), Ptr. Rowel Mupal (BCF/CBAP) and Rev. Fr. Rex Tapales, DCD (Roman Catholic) offered their prayers for a clean and peaceful election.
