Gratitude to God for 25 years of media service

The solemnity of St. Joseph, March 19, marked 25 silver years for DXHM-AM (Heart of Mary Station) and 7 years for DXDV-Spirit FM (Dei Verbum). The day began with the celebration of the Eucharist at 7:00 AM led by the station’s founder as then Bishop of Mati, Most Rev. Patricio H. Alo, D.D. at the Clergy House chapel, then motorcade around the city. Refreshments were served and visitors and guests went around the station and had opportunities for greetings and sharing of media experiences in person and on air. At exactly 12:00 Noon, the live singing showcase sensation of the city, “Take One on the Air” was conducted with grand prizes for the winners in cash and in kind. Meantime, the Raffle Papremyo aimed at upgrading station equipment was inserted within the singing program. Results will be published in the succeeding issue.

A Thanksgiving dinner took place in the evening for the station personnel and their families, and the neighboring compound of Clergy house workers. A week before, on March 12, the station DJs conducted an outreach at the Provincial Jail, dubbed “Silver Lining – Tulong ng aking DJ” where the Lim-ao band of the station entertained the inmates with their favorite songs and the AM-FM personnel distributed toiletries, laundry soap and snacks. This was the 2nd outreach following one held last year in the spirit of the anniversary, and the recipients were the “Ladies First” at the Reception Study and Development Center (RSDC). A few talented girls also sang with the band, and all also relished the snacks and “Christmas gifts” from generous donors that sponsored the event through DXHM-DXDV. Happy Anniversary…To God be the glory!
