Valles to youth: ‘Be familiar with God’s ways’
“Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God!” claim the 700 young people from the Archdiocese of Davao.
The 45 National Youth Day delegates along with the Davao Archdiocesan Youth Coordinating Apostolate’s (DAYCA) staff brought the NYD-Tuguegarao event here in Davao last December 22, 2015 at the Regional Major Seminary. The event is a special day for the young people since it manifests how much the church loves them all.
The youth from Davao had their share of series of sharing, reflection, animations, pilgrim walk, plenary talk and learning tracks at the site. They were taught to desire true happiness and to obtain purity of heart in order to see God.
Fr. Ronald Arcillas of the Sacred Heart Parish told the young people that “only God can see their hearts,” and that may they find God in the faces of other people for God dwells in us.
Moreover, one of the DAYCA staff and organizer Jerick J. Nacion said that they wish this event will help the young people see and meet Jesus in their service in the youth ministry. “That they might also have genuine happiness through their service for the young people and might share it with them as well even in the face of the challenges of life,” he added.
Through this event, Tibungco’s Dexter C. Honorio learned that truly pureness of heart is the key to face, feel, and see God.
The event was culminated with the celebration of the Holy Mass and with the words of our very own Archbishop Romulo “Yanong Muloy” Valles saying, “that the only purpose why you have these events is to bring you all closer to God and that you will be familiar with His ways.” (Jay Ann Peteros | Kalakbay)
