HTC extends mercy, gives life in Buda
Following the theme of the Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy, “Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful” as announced by Pope Francis during a Lenten penance service last March and began last December 8,2015, the Holy Trinity Community conducted its Alay Buhay (which is done twice a year, Lent and Christmas) in Buda National High School last December 13. It was also on the same day that the Holy Door in the Archdiocese of Davao was opened.
Approximately 300 high school students benefited from the donated books, sporting goods, gardening tools, kitchen utensils, gift items (bag of rice, canned goods, clothes) and packed meals.
Aside from receiving all these material blessings, the students were blessed also to receive teachings given by the youth members of HTC. Topics were Grade 7 – www.com (media), Grade 8 – Youth Culture, Grade 9 – True Love Waits, Grade 10 – Service.
Head Servant Bro. Noel Sanchez said that “As we celebrate the season of advent, the Holy Trinity Community Young Adult (YA) and the University Group (UG), the brothers & sisters, the Emmaus Way, our partners in mission, the Ang Lingkod ng Panginoon, and the Christ Youth in Action, expressed our love and shared God’s generosity in the lives of the students.”
He added, “These students felt the joy that all of us want to share with them. We, as the servants of this outreach, experienced the miracle of God, in a short period of preparation for this event. It is God’s grace that made all things in proper places. The resources, donations, servants, programs, coordinations, and the execution of this event were met accordingly. Truly the joy of giving and sharing is priceless. Thanks be to God! His joy pierced the deepest recesses of our soul. Praise the eternal God!”
The Alay Buhay gives HTC members an opportunity in sharing with others, while training their children/young members to be generous and compassionate through service. (Manilee Araune)
