God’s Kingdom Incarnated
AS a New Year sets in with all the colorful lights and booming sounds, we are prompted to welcome more fully the Incarnate Light of the World, whose brilliance of Peace and Mercy will dispel the darkening clouds of hatred, violence and war.
Look at our present world. People thought firearms will be their best defense, forgetting to pray to the Almighty King above. It is the chaos of war that results into useless bloodshed. At His arrest in Gethsemane, the Prince of Peace had warned to Peter, “Put your sword back into its place, for he who uses the sword will perish by the sword” (Mt. 26:52).
In his great love, the Father sent us His only Son to teach us the way and to remain with us till the end of time. The Son of God became man to save us from sin and lead us into His Kingdom, as sons and daughters of God. The KINGDOM OF GOD IS HERE! Jesus is incarnated in each one of us, awaiting for the generosity of each one’s helping hand to re-create the community of love and mercy He had sown.
God is with us! Let Christ’s light of peace and mercy shine in our hearts and actions that these may be our gift to one another, and ultimately to God, the Alpha and Omega of all being. Let us pray that the Holy Spirit move us to remain in Jesus, and do what will be for the good of others, just as Jesus would. A good motto may be the popular WWJD = What Would Jesus Do. “Remain in Him now, little ones, so that when He reveals Himself, we may be fully confident and not retreat in shame at His coming” (1 Jn. 2:28).
