UM scores major awards from PACUCOA
The University of Mindanao is set to receive two major awards and two special citations from the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA) during its Annual General Assembly. The event will be held at the posh Solaire Hotel, Manila on December 1.
UM will be cited for having the highest number of accredited programs in the whole region, having the second highest number of accredited programs in the whole country, and a special citation for producing graduates who obtained top ratings in the Social Work 2014 and the recent Criminology licensure examinations. UM has 32 accredited programs, five of which have Level IV accredited status. Level IV is the highest accreditation that a program or institution can receive from any accreditation agency in the country.
It is the second straight year for UM to be hailed as the institution with the second most number of accredited programs in the country. In the previous years, UM was also given recognition for being the first to achieve Level IV accredited status for its Electrical Engineering Program, the first Level III accredited Architecture school, and the first Social Work school to have applied for accreditation.
PACUCOA will garner the awards during its 42nd founding anniversary and the 26th annual general assembly at the City of Dreams Manila. PACUCOA has at least 310 academic member institutions in the country. It is the only accrediting agency in the Philippines that has an ISO 9001 certification and a member of the International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE). PACUCOA is also the first and only accrediting agency to receive a Philippine Quality Award (PQA), the highest recognition granted by the Philippine government to any organization in the country espousing quality and performance excellence.
