Sense of nationalism enriched at ICP Fiesta

Despite of the heavy rain and electric interruption, The Immaculate Conception of Mintal gathered to celebrate Parish Night in Mintal gym, last December 6.

Themed “Kuyog ni Birheng Maria, Puy-an ang Eukaristiya,” it was one of the events of the 56th parochial fiesta. It started with the Zumbayaw facilitated by some zumba instructors initiated by the ICP youth for the benefit of parish’ construction. The zumba-buffs were not only energized, yet happy since prizes were given them by generous sponsors.

Afterwards, students from Imelda Elementary School set the mood as they performed folk dances in the Philippines which enriched this year’s concept — Fiesta sa Nayon. Various dances were also staged as performers from different districts dressed up.

Priests, Fr. Jovil Bongay and Fr. Leomel Puerto also garbed up for the occasion.

The event recognized the resilience and loyalty of the parish leaders who serve in their ministry for 25 years. Nonetheless, the celebration was a thanksgiving for the bountiful blessing they received the entire year as helped by the patron, Mary, Immaculate Conception. (Corrine Grace C. Casia | ICP SoCCom)

School employees taught ‘Personhood’ as factor to unity

The Holy Cross College of Sasa, Inc.(HCCS) organized a 3-day Team Building recently which was participated by the members of the administration, high school and college faculty, and the maintenance personnel.

Sr. Leticia Andrea Garcia of the Sisters of Charity was the speaker of the sessions. She inspired the participants about personhood, sharing a life filled with awareness and social consciousness.

The team building aimed to help everyone to be united in serving the students in line with moral values. This is important especially for a Catholic school like HCCS where the participants prepare themselves to face challenges, to be efficient in their duties, and to build harmonious relationship among their peers.

The activity was concluded with the 59th birthday of School Principal Sr. Ma. Florenda C. Mesiona, TDM. (Caramena Timario | SJP SoCCom)
