Jubilee of Mercy, Cluster of Families
It will have its own group facilitator or Tigpasayon sa Pundok Banay (TPB), thus, the Word of God will be given utmost importance in the life of the clusters of families.
This will be the highlight of this year’s Pangulo sa Katilingban (PSK) gathering on December 12, 8 to 5 PM at the Ateneo de Davao University Martinez Sports Complex, Matina, Davao City. GKK Secretaries and Treasurers will also be participating. The objectives of the event include the understanding and appreciation of Pundok-Banay (cluster of families) while experiencing the essence of unity and being missionaries in the local church.
Preparations are spearheaded by the Archdiocesan Parish GKK Coordinator Fr. Pete Lamata, supported by parish priests and their GKK coordinators. The GKK is chapel-based composed of 50-500 families, hence, large.
According to Fr. Lamata, “Among naistoryahan karon ang mahitungod sa Pundok Banay. This is the perfect expression nga ang GKK as part of the local church kay ato pa gayung bahinon into clusters; mga 8-15 families aron naay maayong sharing ug naa g’yoy interaction, more free and more meaningful. Mas effective and efficient ang pag-evangelize sa mga silingan kay makasabot sab sila kon unsang oras sila magtapok.”
The conference will also include discussion on the Jubilee of Mercy and sharing by 7 lay vicariate representatives. Official guidelines for the Pundok Banay, a product of a year-long study, will be issued during the gathering.
The revised GKK Guidelines and Norms explains that the PB is a smaller expression of the GKK as a Church of the neighborhood, which aims to enhance a deeper sense of GKK communion, participation, co-responsibility and mission. They will engage in activities that will promote such GKK values. (With Reports: Cleofe Toroba, Ynna Vistal, Cathyrine Molles)
