HCDC Bags DOLE Award
In the midst of unrest that the Holy Cross is undergoing through this time because the union leaders are calling for the President and Vice President for Administration to step down, the Holy Cross of Davao College, Inc. is one among the 11 awardees of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Tripartite Certificate of Compliance with Labor Standards (TCCLS) this year.
“Feeling of being affirmed,” responded HCDC President Msgr. Julius Rodulfa when asked about his feelings on the citation received Monday, November 23 during the awarding at the 8th Social Partnership at Work–Labor Relations Summit, held in one of the malls here.
“Holy Cross is doing the ‘right thing’ with our labor relations,” Msgr. Rodulfa claimed hoping that the “school and employees really work together so that our Vision and Mission which is providing quality Christian education at the same time become true to our vision as an arm of evangelization.”
As gold is tested by fire, the school’s more than 60 years of existence has proven itself to overcome challenges and remain as an evangelizing arm of the Archdiocese of Davao.
HCDC Basic Education Academic Coordinator Mellisa Jose, who accompanied the President in receiving the award opined that when the administrators continue do their best for their employees, “the employees will also work efficiently, and in return the Holy Cross will give the mandated salaries, benefits and wages.”
Standing firm on the school’s mandate, Msgr. Rodulfa ascertain that “evangelization happens in different ways and I believe that Holy Coss now is being evangelized this way.”
The Certificate is an incentive from the program by the Aquino administration for Culture of Compliance with the labor laws and is valid for three years. (Dolly Fernandez | San Miguel Parish – Panacan SocCom)
