DXGN Updates
“All members of the Church should make a concerted effort to ensure that the means of communication are put at the service of the multiple forms of the apostolate without delay and as energetically as possible, where and when they are needed” (IM 13).
This concerted effort among the clergy, religious, and lay faithful in the Archdiocese of Davao was so evident during the Dinner for a Cause for DXGN held last October 31, 2015 in Mergrande Ocean Resort.
Due to the overwhelming support of the faithful of Davao for our Catholic radio station, the transmitter is now being installed at Shrine Hills, Matina, Davao City while the studio is also under minor renovation at San Pablo Parish Compound, Matina, Davao City.
Many are asking, “kanus-a man gyud ta mag-abli sa GN?” Even our very own Archbishop Romulo Valles asked, “maka- on air na ta sa December?” Our response is we try our best we can have test broadcast in January 2016. But I thank God, we are already ON-THE-AIR starting Dec. 9, 2015.
Meanwhile, groups involved in our program have started to meet and agree on the tasks and responsibilities. The content and finances are included in the concerns and discussions.
Indeed, we received so many blessings as a church from the God who has called us to proclaim the Good News.
“How can we thank God enough for you in return for all the joy that we feel before our God because of you?” (1 Thes. 3:9)
