Spirit FM’s Dinner for a Cause
A successful Dinner for a Cause for DXGN 89.9 Spirit FM was held at the Mergrande Resort in Dumoy, Toril last October 31. The venue was jam-packed with supporters from different parishes, private companies and Catholic institutions inside and outside the Archdiocese of Davao.
Food and venue were sponsored by the Evangelista family as well as the entertainment from the St. John Paul II College. The school’s Siningtala Dance Group performed while Msgr. Edgar Labagala, Fr. Al Botero, Fr. Russel Bantiles, Fr. Rolando Mandreza and Fr. Junar Dela Victoria showcased their prowess in singing. Talentadong Pinoy Champion Neil Llanes completed the list of amazing performers with his beat boxing talent.
Tunog Mindanao 2015 second placer, Don Juan Baktas sang their original compositions and donated their initial demo CD for DXGN.
Lay and clergy collaboration was very evident that night as they worked for the same goal. The Dinner was one of the fund-raising activities leading to the re-opening of the Catholic radio station. The financial report of the said event will be published next week. Other ongoing fundraising activity is the 25 Centavos Para Sa Radyo Ko and Pledge System. Moments of Prayer cards and other support projects will be announced, soon. Volunteer Program is also open to interested Catholic constituents.
