Sambuokan Festival Nagmalampuson

Malampuson nga gisaulog ang Sambuokan Festival sa siyudad sa Mati, Oktubre 28-31, 2015. Nagsugod kini pinaagi sa paghalad sa Santos nga Misa niadtong Octobre 28 sa buntag nga gipangunahan ni Apostolic Administrator Fr. Edito S. Bano.

Opisyal nga gibuksan ang mga kultural, musical ug sports nga mga aktibidades sa alas 4:00 sa hapon sa Emmanuel Pelaez Activity Center sa pagpanguna ni Mayor Carlo Rabat ug Bise Mayor Glenda Rabat Gayta. Gitambongan kini sa mga opisyales sa lunsod ug mga barangay. Sila tagsa-tagsang misulod sa naglinya nga mga netibo nga nagdala ug dekolor nga kahoy nga daw bandera sa panaghiusa, sa pagka-sambuok.

Mitambong usab ang mga kadagkuan sa ubang mga sector, lakip ang military ug Philippine National Police. Nag-awit ang koro sa siyudad ug nanayaw ang mga ethnic dancers. Sa katapusan gihimo ang Covenant Signing alang sa pagtimaan usab sa diwa sa panaghiusa. Dayon sa sunod nga mga adlaw nagpasundayag ang mga tribo sa dakbayan — Mandaya, Kalagan, Maguindanao, Maranao, ug Tausug.

Gipakita sa mga Lumad ang ilang pangandoy alang sa kalinaw taliwala sa sunod-sunod nga pagpamusil sa mga igsoon nilang Lumad sa North Cotabato ug uban pang dapit sa Mindanao.

Matud pa ni Datu Apolinario Ambag, gusto niya nga lig-onon pa ang relasyon ug panaghiusa sa mga lumad nga maoy tubag sa mga krimen ug pagkatag-katag sa ilang grupo.

Gpahigayon usab ang Adlaw sa Palengke kon Market Day sa Baywalk Park matag hapon, diin gi-display ang mga prutas ug mga lokal nga produkto.

Nasaksihan usab ang gikahinaman nga surfing/skimboarding competition sa Dahican Beach ubos sa pagbantay sa Amihan sa Dahican, ug ang bancarera sa Pujada Bay.

Miduyog ang katawhan sa tradisyunal nga Indak-indak sa Kadalanan, konsyerto sa banda sama sa Callalily gikan Manila, inubanan nila Kean Cipriano, Tatsi, Aaron ug Lemuel niadtong Oktobre 31. Gihimo usab ang awarding of winners sa mga best performers.

Natapos ang mga kalihokan sa Sambuokan niadtong Nobyembre 1 pinaagi sa pagpanglimpyo sa palibot ug clean up sa Dahican Beach. Ang festival usa sab ka paagi sa pag-preserbar sa kultura ug pagpalambo sa ekonomiya sa siyudad.

Investment Plan to Sustain Good Governance in Davao Oriental

The provincial office is confident that with the newly adopted Annual Investment Plan for 2016, it will be able to sustain and strengthen their award-winning good governance programs. Recently awarded by Malacanang, Outstanding Provincial Governor Corazon N. Malanyaon convened the Provincial Development Council which deliberated, approved and adopted the said Plan for 2016 to be funded under the Local Government Development Fund (LGDF).

She said that the projects will boost her administration’s five development agenda such as the following: to defeat poverty, to safeguard the environment, to expand access to infrastructure, utilities and social services, to sustain public order and security, and to strengthen effective governance.

In conferring this year’s Seal of Good Local Governance award to Davao Oriental, the Department of Interior and Local Government has lauded Governor Malanyaon for being one of the best prime movers of government programs deemed worthy of emulation and recognition.

The Internal Peace and Security Plan or Bayanihan program of the Armed Forces of the Philippines was successfully piloted in Davao Oriental. The government and the military’s cooperation brought development projects to far-flung areas especially those which are considered Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas (GIDAs).

The government has defined GIDAs as communities with marginalized population, and are physically and socio-economically separated from the mainstream society due to distance, adverse weather conditions, lack of transportation (island, upland, lowland, landlocked, hard to reach and unserved or unserved communities), with high poverty incidence, presence of vulnerable sectors, and a community in or recovering from situations of crisis or armed conflict.

Gov. Malanyaon expresses that her administration of nine years may seem to be long enough to have bestowed the palpable gains, yet she feels that the work is far from done. “As it is, the problem with time is that it eventually runs out. And we know for a fact that there are still many development needs that have to be addressed. Yet, in a sense, the unfinished business, so to speak, will have to be carried over to the successor’s plan to address these needs.
