Mercy and Compassion
Few weeks ago, I was personally invited by a good friend of mine from the religious congregation named Teresian Daughters of Mary, or many of us are oriented by the name TDM. We went to a remote place in the outskirts of Davao City to extend acts of love and service. We were very fortunate enough since we were joined by our brothers and sisters from San Pedro College Community Extension Services, their local barangay officials and some members from the Philippine National Police with one mission in mind…‘Mercy and Compassion’.
I was personally pleased with how we were welcomed by everybody. The sisters have prepared activities not only to cater medical needs of recipients in the area but also prepared games and feeding programs for children. You can really witness how everybody became busy and still afford to share smiles and laughters to everyone. As I was going through examining some patients, I was also amazed on how enthusiastic are the support from the academe department. Since most of my clients were children, the extra effort exerted by their teachers in accompanying them made me realize that these teachers were heroes themselves, just like Jesus Christ being a teacher himself.
No words can best describe on how amazing God works in many ways. Through us being instruments, we can impart a huge impact on how to be like Jesus Christ. Remember, sharing and extending acts of mercy to everyone not only to those in need is part of our mission. Always remember… be courageous and be kind.
