Lay empowerment in parish, media apostolate lauded

The parish priest of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, Bangkal expressed his sincere gratitude during the PPC Meeting last November 8, 2015. Though Fr. Veloso admitted that the level of lay empowerment and leadership trait in every parish differs, he claimed that in every parish where he was assigned to, he experienced unique level of lay spirit and enthusiasm. “Diri sa Bangkal, lahi ra jud ang mga lideres diri. Grabe ang inyong kakugi. Makuratan ko’g atiman sa inyoha,” he adds.

He shared the essence of the philosophy of giving” as implied in the Gospel of Mark on poor widow’s contribution. “The metaphysics of giving is expressed in the philosophy of giving. This is actually Saint Paul’s theology of love. My heartfelt gratitude on your earnest generosity in every project that we launched in our parish. I want to personally express it with you through bonding and fellowship on my birthday.”

When later asked about his comment on DXGN’s Dinner for a Cause, “I am giving the same message as I expressed during our PPC meeting, daku kaayo ang akong kalipay ug pasalamat sa tataw nga pagsuporta ug pagkigduyog sa mga lideres sa atong parokya sa atong media apostolate through the DXGN Spirit FM,” replied Fr. Veloso.

“I pray that my fellow parish priests, during our incoming retreat, would also notice and be thankful to the laypeople in their respective parishes; for the spirit of the laity is the spirit of the Church. As I said earlier, the metaphysics of giving is expressed in the philosophy of giving that is seen and felt in the heart of every laity.” (Vonz Hijada | OLLP SoCCom)
