GKK Secretaries’ training in Agdao takes full swing
Seventy-five (75) secretaries and other representatives of the different GKKs of San Antonio de Padua Parish in Agdao sat together for a training-workshop on News Writing and Bisaya Journalism at the St. Anthony’s Hall of the Parish, last October 18. The said event aims to equip their GKK SoCCom with proper formation in time for the implementation of the Guidelines and Norms on the GKK this month.
Davao Catholic Herald Associate Editor Dr. Cheryl Vilog talked and handled the workshop on News Writing. The participants wrote about the recent activities in their respective GKKs. An interview with any member of their Council of Leaders who will validate their article was assigned so that each will present his/her output on the second part of the training on November 8. Moreover, Ms. Annie Libres of DXGN 89.9 FM tackled “Bisaya Journalism.”
DC Herald EIC Fr. Ritsche Gamaya enlightened the participants of their part in the mission of spreading the Good News of God’s Kingdom. He further explained the significance of social communications as stated in the Decree on Social Communications “Inter Mirifica”, which was promulgated by His Holiness Pope Paul VI IN 1963. The 2nd part of the training and workshop will tackle Writing the Minutes of Meeting.
The two-part event is the highlight of the 2nd anniversary celebration of PAGPADAYAG, the official publication of San Antonio de Padua Parish. (Elena Mozo | SAP SoCCom)
San Pablo: First parish to undergo ‘Minutes Taking’ seminar
THE training and support arm of DC Herald conducted a seminar at the San Pablo Seminar Hall, last October 24.
To enhance the skills of the secretaries from the 59 GKKs in the parish, the topic, “How to Write Minutes of the Meeting,” was an eye opener for the participants. The invited speaker, Ms. Hermie Mapute, who for decades had a career as the secretary of the Vice President of the Ateneo de Davao University will also continue to deliver her expertise to other parishes under the Training and Support Program (“Media Baby Ka Ba?) of the Davao Verbum Media Foundation, Inc. She belongs to Saint Mary’s Parish of Buhangin and an associate of Missionary Sisters of the Immaculate Conception.
The seminar will benefit all the GKKs in the Archdiocese as SoCCom is already a part of the revised GKK Norms and Guidelines. (JS | SPP SoCCom)
Vicariate held catechists’ gathering
The catechists from parishes under the San Pablo Vicariate gathered at the 2nd floor of the San Pablo Parish Pavilion, last October 23. Participants were given the chance to interact and bond.
They encouraged each other to continue the struggle of feeding the truths of our Faith to the children under their care. In the midst of exchanges of pleasantries, experiences of every individual were shared, too. In the end, warmed by the Holy Spirit, the zeal is strengthened as each group returned to their respective parishes. (SPP SoCCom)
