YFC recruits more students for Christ in Digos High

‘It is my Passion to Serve God’

Guitar playing, reading the Bible, watching animes, studying, and thanking God for his daily achievements make this young boy’s day complete.

Renz Jay Gamorot is just 15 years old, yet he already knows what he wants in life. He desires to invite more high school students to join Youth for Christ (YFC) – Digos National High School Chapter. Serving in the ministry for two years, Gamorot along with his colleagues in the community go room-to-room to campaign to spread the “true love of God”. When asked what it is like, Renz replies, “True Love is unconditional…we invite students especially the Grade 7 (newbies) to join the prayer meeting, instead of going to parties.”

The group which sees the importance of belonging to a community ‘advertises’ the inspiration one can get from testimonials during prayer sessions. Team leaders they called “ates” and “kuyas” in Couples for Christ (CFC) – Davao del Sur back them up to organization youth camps held twice a year. “We have camps in summer and within the school year like today, August 29. Aside from that, we have YFC weekly gathering, too,” he added.

“As a leader to almost 50 members, I met struggles, misunderstandings, overlapping of tasks, and conflicts, but we meet to resolve them.”

When asked about service and commitment, Renz who deeply gives back his love to His creation remarks: “God is love and forgiveness. He is all that we have. It is my passion to serve God.”

The YFC in Digos High is one among the many clubs and organizations where students can join for free. Other chapters in Digos can be found in Cor Jesus College.
