Kining trumpa nagsilbing radyo sa katilingban. Sayo pa lamang sa buntag, madunggan na nila ang tingog ni Fr. Nuñez sa iyang pagsibya ug maayong balita pinaagi sa usa ka FM radio sa Digos.

When time has come for a new priest to take over the parish, a different story of joy for another journey of humanity has started to unfold as he entered the San Vicente Ferrer Parish of Bangkal, Matanao, Davao del Sur.

It was August 4, 2014 was when he started living with the people. Not long after his residency as the parish priest, things were changed for the better; he organized the Parish Social Action Ministry (PSAM) with over 60 PSAs who brought ‘colors’ to the life of the beneficiaries of various projects. PSAM’s projects were undeniably important to the lives of the beneficiaries for it is one of their tools to fight poverty; to conquer a battle that is worth fighting for.

Their projects include the following: Feeding Program which fed countless residents of far flung areas like Sitio Tagaytay, Barangay Colonsabac, Barangay Dongan Pekong and Barangay Asbang, Matanao, Dava del Sur. A Medical Mission was also arranged to the said Barangays including the Sentro Bangkal. Scholarships were given to seven selected high school students of Bangkal National High School. This scholarship program was funded by the PSAM itself through their Income Generating Project. This IGP was named Animal Dispersal for selected families where three goats and three cows were leased. Another was the Nursery where all Catholics after mass, would bring home seeds for them to plant on their vacant lawn. Finally, the Blood Letting where there were a total of 14 blood bags collected as it had started last September 1, 2015.

People from different areas covered by the parish were grateful for the blessings they got, for the answered prayers through the PSAM.

For all the blessings we have got, we’re getting and will be getting, we give thanks to Reverend Father Allan Joie T. Nuñez, DCD for being God’s instrument, for making the PSAM well-organized and efficient and for making all things possible through believing the existence of our Almighty Father and with that, To God Be the Glory.
