Doctrine is a belief or set of beliefs held and taught by a church, political party, or other group.
Dogma is a principle or set of principles laid down by an authority as incontrovertibly true. It serves as part of the primary basis of an ideology or belief system, and it cannot be changed or discarded without affecting the very system’s paradigm, or the ideology itself. There are three foundations for dogmatization: 1) Theological Foundation; 2) Ecclesiastical Support from the Pope and Bishops; and 3) Petition from the Faithful. The Mary Mediatrix is a 100-year old petition. (Nemric Kiel Umali)
