Elementary School Honors Mama Mary

The Santa Cruz Central Elem School, with over 3 thousand schoolchildren mostly Catholics celebrated the Feast of Mary Mediatrix of all Grace in the school’s meditation garden, Aug 25, 2015.

St. Joseph Parish Priest, Fr. Bong Lunas, officiated the mass at 7:30 AM, with the floral offerings and novena participated by all the Catholic teachers and students.

The venue was made ten years ago. It has the scroll of the 10 Commandments mounted and surrounded with plants.

Five years later, the teacher-organizers decided upon putting up a grotto and they all agreed to have Mary Mediatrix of All Grace as their patron saint.

So the celebration of the Feast day of MMC is held every year. This year is their 5th anniversary and the 10th year of making this as the “meditation garden.”

Mrs. Janette S. Pulante was the school spiritual coordinator when the garden was built and five years later, Mrs. Pauline E. Esperat became the school coordinator. The two ladies are also the President and Vice President of the Confederation of Mary Mediatrix of All Grace-Sta Cruz Chapter. (Blaze Cantaros | Sta. Cruz)
