Gangrene of Society
“GANGRENE” — In layman’s terms, “gangrene” means something that is rotten as in one’s wound that’s so infected, swollen and perhaps foul smelling that it needs to be cut off or excised to prevent its spread. “MAKING MESS” — The Pontiff also talked the language of the youth by even encouraging them to “mess up” things but to level up and make good of one‘s self. He understands perfectly the exuberance of today’s youth.

BISHOP JIMMY — Bishop Jimmy Afable is celebrating a sacerdotal milestone. I recall our Ateneo de Davao days when we were students, although admittedly I was way ahead in the senior year while Bishop Jimmy was a college undergraduate at that time. That he is our bishop now in the south where I grew up makes us mighty proud. More blessed years ahead, Bishop Jimmy!

SALAMAT — Thanks to all who said a prayer for my partner, Beth. She had a successful kidney transplant in Manila where she will recuperate and nourish back her health for the next few months. God is great!
