Sto. Niño Parish ‘wakes up’ youth
“YOUTH! Wake up! The Glory of the Martyrs shines on you.”
This Archdiocesan Youth Day 2015 theme was adopted in gathering 337 youth delegates with 25 staff from the 46 Gagmay’ng Kristohanong Katilingban (GKKs) and communities of Sto. Nino Parish, Kaputian, IGACOS, May 14-16.
The event aimed to inspire them by the life and teachings of the martyrs. The three-day Parish Youth Festival allowed them to express and enhance their intellectual, physical, spiritual, and psychosocial well-being. Holy Masses were celebrated everyday with Parish Priest Fr. Rico P. Enriquez and DAYCA Director Fr. Leomel Puerto.
The parish hopes to cultivate commitment and hearts for service as they strive to become better Christians. Parish priest Fr. Rico P. Enriquez ended: “The youth is great in number in the population of the baptized Catholics. Therefore, if the youth who are seemingly sleeping in terms of living and sharing their faith will wake up…they will be able to help strengthen the Church especially its faithful to live and share their faith to others. Youth, wake up!” (Babeth P. Gevila with report from Fr. R. Enriquez)
