St. Mary’s launches Karatedo
TO promote anti-bullying campaign, Technical Karatedo Shitokai Seminar was launched at St. Mary of the Perpetual Rosary Parish, May 19. A victim of bullying in school, Progressive Karatedo League (PKL) Chair Shihan Dennis Aquino said “through martial arts, if you are physically strong and with a strong young personality, you will not be bullied.”
PKL Head of Davao-Panabo, Coach Noel Tan Aguilar added that their goal is to help the 147 young children learn Karate. The Ministry gave free lessons to keep children away from drugs and negative effects of media. Lessons are being held every Tuesday and Thursday. Fr. Jess Samaniego said that participants are as young as 6 years old. Each registered at P100. The session includes catechism before the Karate training. He wants that these children’s time will become productive this summer. (Kiana Charmaine Tan)
