ABOUT 2,000 lay delegates from different parishes and Church communities of the Archdiocese of Davao gathered at the Fr. Martinez Sports Complex of the Ateneo de Davao University, Matina Campus, last May 23, 2015, for the Marian Congress and Procession.
Keynote Speaker Sr. Angel C. Libron, a missionary from Korea for nineteen years, stressed on the values of the 7 sorrows of Mama Mary used as tool to guide the devotees, to reflect on personal life-sorrow experiences common to Mama Mary, a reflection on how to handle and carry out personal crosses in life. Testimonies shared from two volunteers were also heard on how their personal devotions to Mama Mary helped them strengthen their faith and brought them closer to God.
After the assembly was the procession of fifty-two “karos” of various statues and images of Mama Mary from Ateneo to San Pedro Cathedral.
Parishioners from the Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, Bangkal led by PPC Coordinator Nestor Fruto were among those who joined the procession.
