Encountering my Alpha and Omega
WHEN I was in elementary, there were times when I was tempted to go outside the church to buy food and play with other children. Through playing with them, I also encouraged them to pray. In our Religion classes, I was very interested to listen because I wanted to learn more about God. I always raise my hand to answer the question. I was an honor student.
When I reached high school, I received more blessings. In the parish, I was an altar server. I can still remember an old woman who I gave P25.00. I said: “Do not cry, God hears you.” She said, “Thank you. The Lord will always be with you.” The words of that woman inspired me as I conquer hardships in life like financial constraints. That woman was an instrument of God.
Those experiences of mine led me to seminary formation. My religious experiences bloomed as I begin to meet lots of friends through seminars and gatherings. God was still there for me.
He is always on our side whether we are busy and tired. It is indeed important to nurture our spiritual life as we journey with God through the poor and the needy. God helps. (Sem. Melvinn Roi Juaner)
