Digos youth learn small acts of kindness
THE Parish Youth Apostolate of Mary Mediatrix of All Grace Cathedral of Digos organized the 18th Parish Youth Days, held at the Holy Cross Academy of Digos, Gallarde St., Digos City recently with the theme “Youth: Bridges of God’s Mercy and Compassion with the Holy Spirit”. This was participated by the GKK youth, Parish Renewal Experience (PREX) youth, Tuburan Community, Lourdes, Altar Servers, Youth for Christ and the youth from the Divine Mercy Apostolic Center (DMAC).
The aims of the said event was to establish camaraderie among fellow youth, to strengthen the relationship between God and the youth, to be the bridges of God’s mercy and compassion with the Holy Spirit that will reach out to the community through the corporal works of mercy.
To teach them acts of kindness, the committee exposed them to various activities. There were young people assigned to visit our brothers and sisters in BJMP, feeding program, gift-giving, visit for the home for the aged, a prayer service for the dead, Brigada Eskwela, house-to-house evangelization, and the catechesis for the children. The activities had touched the hearts of the youth as they realized the importance of respecting different situations of life.
They were taught to show genuine concern for others. They brought home memories of the “Year of the Poor” as a great challenge, and friendship which sparked them together to spread the light to make good deeds one at a time. (Angel Barot | Judelle Rocacorba)
