UP student event is finalist in PANAta Marketing Awards
UP Mindanao BA Communication Arts students were chosen among the national finalists in the PANAta Marketing Effectiveness Awards of the Philippine Association of National Advertisers (PANA) and will attend the all-expense-paid Awarding Ceremony on May 25 in Makati City where the prospect of winning a national award awaits. This was disclosed in an e-mail received from Ms. Digna D. Santos, Executive Director of PANA. The recognition was given for the student’s project named, #IMC, or “Integrated Marketing Communications Seminar-Workshop”, that was held on December 12-13, 2014.
According to student-organizers, “The #IMC event offered lessons on the application of consistent brand messaging across traditional and non-traditional marketing channels, and on using different promotional methods to reinforce each other.” The student-organizers promoted their event through press conferences, broadcast radio, social media, and in newspapers, using videos, graphics, and personal appearances.
The speakers in the #IMC event were Mr. Benralph Yu of Nestle Philippines, Ms. Glorypearl Dy of Switotwins Inc., Mr. Tommy Secuya of Carve company, Mr. Domini Sebastian del Rosario of Grand Regal Hotel, Mr. Dan Pacoy and Ms. Danelle Filipinas of Manic Nightings Productions, and Mr. Julius Neil Piala of UP Mindanao Dept. of Humanities. The #IMC event sponsors were Green Heights Convention Center, Davao Catholic Herald, Monster Radio FM, GH Office Depot, and National Bookstore. The University of the Philippines Trend Events (UPTREND) student organization, led by its president Ms. Nicole Go (4-BA Communication Arts), served as organizer of the event.
