REFUSAL—Mr. Iqbal could have helped ease the public and earn goodwill by acceding to give his real name when asked in the Senate hearing. No big deal. But he refused. This does not help ease up the public angst over the BBL because of Mamasapano.

FREE MEAL—I read an article that in oil-rich Qatar, a restaurant has a sign outside saying: “If you are hungry and have no money, eat for free!” It is open 24/7 giving meals, mostly to migrant workers who have no money to buy food. More blessings to the owners!

DRNKING SEA WATER—California in USA is now constructing a huge, expensive desalination plant to provide 50 million gallons of drinking water daily from sea water for the San Diego county. That’s what will happen to us tomorrow if we do not take care and conserve our fresh water today.

CASINO BOOM?—Some are now boasting that the Philippines is now on the verge of a so-called casino boom, with the coming in of billions of dollars in investments for casino resorts. If you ask me, we’d rather be a nature’s tourism hub than a destination of quick-rich high rollers and gamblers. Nothing to be boastful about.
