Young delegates to the Papal encounter get-together

As a sign of thanksgiving and fellowship, a gathering of the Archdiocese of Davao Delegates to the Papal Encounter with the Youth was set last February 19, 2015 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish Obrero.

Touched by the Mercy and Compassion of God, 15 of 67 delegates were present to join the Eucharistic celebration and shared their grace-filled experiences with the rest of the delegates, a month to be exact from their encounter with Pope Francis at the University of Santo Tomas.

Most of the delegates had their first time experience to travel and to witness the presence of the Holy Father. They have shared that, the encounter is an eye-opener to be more compassionate and to be merciful, as Christ is to us. Pope Francis challenged the youth saying, “The Gospel offers us a serene way forward: using the three languages of the mind, heart and hands—and to use them in harmony. What you think, you must feel and put into effect. Young people are the Church’s youthful face that shines and becomes younger in the joyfulness of its members. For this reason, the message invites us to go back to our origins for us to live and share the faith with our fellow brothers and sisters. (MJ Olea)
