United in a Christian Prayer
As thousands of religions and denominations are sprouting in all places all over the world today and with the many boundaries of beliefs and walls of traditions lurking, it seems impossible to attain the genuine spirit of unity among us.
Five churches coming from the City of Davao have been united as one in a week-long celebration of prayer dubbed as the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity – Davao City Celebration with a theme taken from what Jesus said to the Samaritan woman, “give me a drink” (John 4:1-7).
The week of prayer last February 15-22 was joined by eight denominations. This was meant to quench the thirst of people by offering them the spring of life which is the word of God. If people would only come to Him in spirit and in truth they will be enlightened. He opens people’s minds leading them to the real spirit of unity for true unity comes from within and not from without.
This annual celebration started more than one hundred years ago in the United States that suggests “fellowship of churches.” (Jam Mae Tarre)
