ComVal Turns 17

ComValenos will “Rise and Shine” as they celebrate its 17th Founding Anniversary as a province and as they also celebrate its 8th Bulawan Festival.

Two years after Typhoon Pablo, the Province of Compostela Valley (ComVal) bears the theme “Rise and Shine” on its 17th Founding Anniversary and 8th Bulawan Festival on March 1, 3-8, 2015.

This year’s 7-day festivity will highlight the province’s blooming tourism industry, showcasing its attractive natural resources and cultural heritage and by giving importance to the Indigenous People (IP) and Senior Citizens of Compostela Valley.

The pre-opening activity of Bulawan Festival 2015 will be the 6th Bulawan Fun Run 2015 on March 1. The proceeds will go to education program.

Visitors come from the local and national government, celebrity guests from national Televisions and a lot of competitions set from day to night.

There will be a Bulawan float parade in poblacion Nabunturan to showcase the natural resources and vegetation of ComVal. It will be the cutting of ribbons of the capitol lobby as a gallery of promotions to promote the natural Eco tourism of the province to attract more tourists.

“Retrato”, a Photo Contest 2015 will best depict or capture the Bulawan Festival mood.

A lot of events and suprises await the people of ComVal during the week-long celebration.

“Security measures we already coordinated with the PNP and AFP in securing the our whole event in 7 days. Regarding the peace and order issues and confident at all points safe muadto ang atong mga bisita ug katawahan atol sa selebrasyon,” said Bulawan Festival Action Officer, Hon. Jayvee Tyron Uy, ComVal Board Member.

The week-long festivity will end with the Grand Fireworks display on March 8 at 10:OO PM sponsored by the Province of Compostela Valley.
