Bangkal parish celebrates 12th fiesta

The Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Bangkal celebrated its 12th parochial fiesta with the theme, “Birhen Maria: sumbanan sa pagkamahigugmaon ug pagkamaalagaron, ilabina sa mga kabus.”

The celebration started with a PSAM Day or Parish Social Action Ministry with various services offered to many parishioners last February 1, 2015, through the courtesy of Sta. Ana Lion’s Club. Two hundred eleven (211) patients benefited from medical services, 111 from optical services, 120 from dental services, 25 from deworming, and 13 from legal consultations. Many parishioners also benefited from bloodletting rendered by the Red Cross.

Fellowship night for the laypeople and active parishioners was done last February 6, while the procession was held at the early dawn of February 7 followed by the Sacrament of Confirmation and Eucharist in the morning. Though the parochial celebration was held on Sunday, February 8, the Sacrament of Confession and Eucharist for the sick and the elderly were set on February 11, 2015, on the Feast Day of the Our Lady of Lourdes.
