More than 700 Diocesan Clergy of Mindanao gathered on its 39th Convention

As the 39th Diocesan Clergy of Mindanao opened last February 9, 2015, the second day has become a success as it had its full pack series of events in its three day assembly held at the St. Francis Xavier Remase Gym.

The second day started with Cardinal Orlando Quevedo’s insight on the 2015 DCM’s theme: “DCM: Reflecting on our ministry of mercy and compassion to the poor” and had significantly stressed out that priests should value and manifest in them the essence of mercy and compassion to the poor.

The assembly of more than 700 clergy from the different parts of Mindanao has been attentively engrossed with Cardinal Quevedo’s message that they had been reminded and have their mind enlightened by the Cardinal’s imparted wisdom to them.

In an interview, Bishop Wilfredo Manlapaz of Tagum shared that he too realized that as one of the servants of God, we should challenge ourselves to be more merciful and compassionate not only because God is merciful and compassionate but as part of His creation.

Archbishop of Davao Romulo G. Valles exultantly added that each and every one of us can pass to others the teaching of Jesus Christ on the mercy and compassion to the poor by showing them the presence of Jesus Christ among us. (Jam Mae Tarre)
